Hotel Hvide Hus in Køge was built in 1966 by timber champion Aage V. Jensen. The through-the Aage V. Jensen hotels was that they were located in a scenic area in need of tourism development. Hotel Hvide Hus in Køge was thus located near the forest and with stunning views over Køge Bay.
Aage V. Jensen grew up in Aalborg, where he worked as an independent carpenter. Upon his death in 1986 he was one of Denmark's wealthiest people, and his modest lifestyle left a huge fortune that went to the Aage V. Jensen Foundation, which aims to conserve nature and protect wildlife.
In 2007, the Hotel Hvide Hus in Køge acquired by the Scandinavian hotel chain Helnan International Hotels. Helnan Group is owned by Enan Galaly originally started his successful career in the White House group, which currently owns 4 - and 5-stjernde hotels worldwide.
